About the PHAIR blog

The PHAIR blog is a forum to present and discuss current scientific scholarship connected to the Society’s mission and scope—namely, research into the psychology of human-animal intergroup relations. Like the PHAIR journal, the blog is open to perspectives from moral and social psychology, attitudes and persuasion, diet and health, human-animal relationships, personality/individual differences, sustainability and environmental psychology, and other related sub-fields. It is also open to broader perspectives from animal advocacy so long as there are clear connections to or implications for the scientific study of human-animal intergroup relations.
Currently, blog articles take several forms, which include, but are not limited to:

Opinion pieces: where a contributor discusses a topic, recent publication, or set of published findings connected to the Society’s mission and scope (see above). Opinion pieces will generally provide coverage of relevant literature on the topic being discussed and also offer a particular viewpoint or perspective on that topic.
Interviews with experts: where a scholar or expert on a particular topic are interviewed by members of the editorial team regarding their research, a peer-reviewed publication, and/or perspective related to the Society’s scope and mission.
Student showcases: where current PhD candidates are interviewed about their research programme and/or publications related to the Society’s mission and scope.

Interviews with experts and student showcases are generally conducted by members of the editorial team. However, the team is open to suggestions of whom to interview and showcase.

The editorial team is also open to suggestions for alternative blog article formats, so long as the content of the articles are in keeping with the Society’s mission and scope.
